Sad to see the series end but it ran it's course and humans persevered

It is over! Do you ever feel sad that a great series has come to an end and there will be no more stories about the people you learned to care for, hate, or just not understand? That is my feeling after finishing Eternity's Mind which is the last book in The Sage of Shadows series by Kevin J. Anderson. And yes, I also read the other seven book series based on the same world and characters called The Saga of Seven Suns. After ten books I have come to realize that the...

Playful space romp

This is a quick romp in outer space that has an interesting premise --The Earth woman as teacher and almost mother to an artificial intelligence. There is more action than usual in a romance, but a bit of romance is there. I found this book to be enjoyable, but very light read.

Background on the scientist, Galen Erso, but not much else

So first let me start out by saying that I am a big Star Wars fan and have ready many Star Wars books over the years and enjoyed most of them. However, there just isn't enough of a story in Catalyst (Star Wars): A Rogue One Novel to give it a good rating.   This book is solely about Galen Erso and how he was recruited to develop the super weapon for the Death Star. Stop reading now if you don't want to read any spoilers but there isn't much to spoil in this book. One thing...

Great SciFi series continues with an online cyber battle

Lodestar is the third book in the SciFi Firestar series. The story continues to focus in strong character development and technical details. Jimmy Poole is one of the best characters in the book. He is one of the best computer users in the world and is in an interesting virtual battle online.  The number of characters and their depth is really impressive throughout the entire series.  There is also a young woman in training to be a space pilot that feels she has something to prove. Early on she missed the flight to school which was very lucky as...
