Objective and enjoyable telling of the overnight fight against heavily armed Somalis

Black Hawk Down is not a book of fiction, instead it is the actual retelling of the 18 hours that U.S. troops battled for their lives against thousands of heavily armed Somalia citizens in an attempt to rescue their fellow soldiers. I usually only review fictional books and simply must say that if you enjoy books about military history then Black Hawk Down is a must read. However, if I rate it just as a fictional story (which it is not so I realize this might seem...

The first story is about Jason Chalmers, a hero that suddenly finds himself on the premier superhero team, The Defenders, right out of superhero school because of his unique powers including precognition and chronal energy discharge. Jason goes by the superhero name Slipstream and finds himself learning on the job as he faces off against a horde of zombies. I found the section about Slipstream to be one of the...

Mr. Howe does a great job of researching and objectively describing the evolution of Marvel Comics

If you have any interest in the history of Marvel comics this book, Marvel Comics: The Untold Story by Sean Howe is perfect for you.  I won't leave you in suspense and will tell you I rate this book 5 stars.  Mr. Howe does a great job of researching and objectively describing the evolution of Marvel comics and the people that work there. I will admit my review will not be as objective as his book though.  I experienced much of the history of Marvel...
